Women's Self Defense 101
Nothing Fancy, It Just Works
Traditional Martial Arts training is not for everyone. It requires a tremendous commitment both for a time and work ethic standpoint to become proficient. It does, however, take a very small amount of time to learn a select few techniques that will instantly make a person safer in their daily life. In a single 2 hour seminar, our students learn a handful of techniques carefully selected for their degree of effectiveness and simplicity of application to the real world.
The theory is that an untrained defender cannot be expected to execute a self defense technique with precision given that they don't train on a regular basis. In order for their knowledge to translate effectively to real world scenario, they must be armed with techniques that will work even when not executed "perfectly."
Our philosophy is that physical confrontations SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE LAST RESORT. In addition to the techniques, our students are armed with knowledge about statistics and situations that can lead to a need to defend oneself. Awareness based risk reduction is emphasized in hope that the physicality of what we teach will never need to be utilized. However, our students leave this seminar feeling confident in their ability to recall and implement the techniques we cover. The simplicity and focused instruction we provide will make anyone walking out significantly safer than they were when they walked in.
